Articulating social and environmental policy for Sustainable Development

May 3, 2017

The joint UNDP‒UN Environment Poverty-Environment Initiative aims to support countries in implementing policies, instruments, plans and budgets that combine sound environmental management with poverty reduction to contribute to sustainable development.

The programme also contributes to the enhancement of national and local capacities for national policies, plans and budgets to be pro-poor, inclusive and genderresponsive and sustainable for natural resources. This document has been commissioned by the Poverty-Environment Initiative team in Latin America and the Caribbean in order to provide strategic and discussion elements among the main development stakeholders in the region.
