Socioeconomic Assessment of the Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic in Haiti

April 26, 2021

This document is the culmination of an inclusive approach based on data primarily from six thematic surveys completed between April and December 2020 by national institutions supported technically or financially by the United Nations and is aligned with the call of the United Nations Secretary-General to the "Shared Responsibility and Global Solidarity" published in March 2020. After an overview of the background - summarizing the situation that prevailed before the confirmation of the first cases of COVID-19 - and an executive summary of the CSE COVID-19, the document consists of two main parts. The first part is dedicated to the epidemiological situation of the pandemic from March 19 to December 31, 2020 and the increase in humanitarian needs that it has caused. The second part is dedicated to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and its indirect consequences in the economic and social sphere, mainly based on the results of surveys, studies or evaluations that were carried out between April and July 2020 by the national partner institutions of the UN System.
