Nora Lustig

Nora Lustig is Samuel Z. Stone Professor of Latin American Economics and founding director of the Commitment to Equity Institute at Tulane University, New Orleans. She is also a non-resident Senior Fellow of the Brookings Institute, the Center for Global Development and the Inter-American Dialogue in Washington, DC. Currently, her research projects focus on analyzing the determinants of income distribution in Latin America as well as the impact of fiscal policies on inequality and poverty in low and middle income countries. Nora Lustig was a founding member and President of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association (LACEA) and co-director of the World Development Report on Fighting Poverty of the World Bank. Currently, she is editor of the Forum of the Journal of Economic Inequality and member of the Inter-American Dialogue. Nora Lustig obtained her PhD in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
