Hugo Ñopo

Hugo Ñopo holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Northwestern University (Evanston, Illinois), a Master in Mathematical Economics from the Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) and two university degrees, one in Mathematics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (Lima, Peru) and another in Systems Engineering from the National University of Engineering (Lima, Peru).

He is currently Principal Investigator at the Analysis for Development Group - GRADE. From there, he has developed studies for the World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, UNESCO, UNDP and the Economic and Social Research Consortium. Hugo is also a member of boards of social entrepreneurships and boards for social development in the country and Latin America. He has been the Lead Economist for Latin America and the Caribbean of the International Labor Organization (ILO), Lead Economist of the Education Division of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and previously, researcher at the Research Department of the same institution. Before joining the IDB, he was Assistant Professor at Middlebury College, GRADE Associate Researcher and Advisor at the Ministry of Labor and Social Promotion of Peru.
