The first place in each of the categories will be awarded with R$ 50,000 and the 18 finalist institutions will receive a trophy and a video depicting their initiative. In addition, social technologies that promote undertake and women's empowerment will receive a five percent bonus on the total score obtained.

This year's novelty is the international award category "Water and Environment, Agroecology or Sustainable Cities" for initiatives in one or more countries in Latin America and the Caribbean that can be reapplied in Brazil. There will be three finalists - winners will be known at the ceremony in November. All categories are related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

Held every two years, the award is considered one of the main events of the third sector in Brazil. This year the competition is co-sponsored by United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Brazil and the support of the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF), the World Bank, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nation (FAO) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

Representatives of the finalist experiences will also participate in the International Forum of Social Technology, held in Brasilia (DF) in November, which will be attended by experts on the theme. Entities of certified technologies, members of the Bank of Social Technologies (BTS), will also be invited. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the concept of social technology as a tool for sustainable development.

In order to be certified, initiatives must be recognized as solutions capable of causing a positive and effective impact on people's lives, already implemented locally, regionally or nationally and which can be reapplied.

The certified methodologies become part of the BTS of BB Foundation, which has 850 initiatives. The Bank of Social Technology is an online database that combines recognized methodologies to promote the resolution of problems common to several Brazilian communities. In the collection, the experiences developed by institutions across the country can be consulted by theme, executing entity, target audience, region, state, among other research parameters. The content can also be available in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese versions and can be consulted on electronic devices, iOS and Android.

The results of each stage of the Prize will be announced on Banco do Brazil Foundation website (www.fbb.org.br) and at Bank of Social Technology website (tecnologiasocial.fbb.org.br).
