In Latin America and the Caribbean UNDP works with parliaments, ministries, civil society organizations and the private sector to boost gender equality in the region so women can participate equally with men in public dialogue and decision-making and influence the decisions that will determine the future of their families and countries. We work to integrate gender equality and women’s empowerment into poverty and inequality reduction, democratic governance, crisis prevention and recovery, and environment and sustainable development. The portal America Latina Genera (in Spanish) gathers women empowerment-related documents, best practices and facts on democratic governance, work and economy, human rights, equality, diversity and sustainable development.
